A total of three employees of Pella Corporation in Carroll have been infected by the new coronavirus, company officials said today.

The first confirmed coronavirus case at the Pella plant on the east side of town was announced about a week ago.

"The health and safety of team members and customers remains our top priority," the company said in a prepared statement. "We continue to take precautionary measuresĀ and ask our team members to limit risks of illness by following the guidelines of the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) as well as the local health authorities."

The window-and-door maker is one of Carroll's largest employers and has 485 employees at its Carroll site.

Pella is using additional cleaning, staggered break times, plastic barriers, masks, face shields and social distancing to stem the virus' spread.
