There are seven new reports of confirmed coronavirus cases in Carroll County in the past day, which takes the total reported cases since March to 170.
At least 120 of those infected people have recovered, and one has died.
The new reports follow a week that had about 37 new confirmed cases for Carroll, which was a 29-percent increase in the county's total cases.
As the rate of infection in Iowa has been on the rise, the state has launched a “Step Up Mask Up” campaign to encourage residents to wear face masks in public, but Reynolds has resisted calls to order people to wear masks.
“COVID-19 is far from over, and I don’t want to go backwards,” Reynolds said last week in reference to the disease caused by the new coronavirus. “Whether it’s wearing a mask, social distancing, practicing good hygiene, or staying home when we’re sick, these simple steps continue to be the best defense against the virus."
