Local health officials reported 12 more confirmed coronavirus cases in Carroll County this afternoon, which brings the total cases in the county to 161.
At least 119 of those infected people have recovered, and one has died.
Today was the second day this week that had a double-digit increase in the number of cases. In the past week there were 35 more cases reported in Carroll County, which was a 28-percent increase.
Gov. Kim Reynolds announced an extension today of her public health emergency declaration for another month. The declaration requires businesses — especially bars and restaurants — to maintain six feet of space between groups of customers.
As part of the previous declaration, businesses that sell beverage bottles and cans received a temporary reprieve from having to take back the empty containers in exchange for a 5-cent deposit. That requirement resumes on Sunday.
