Stores that exclusively sell clothes, jewelry, beauty products, flowers or furniture are ordered to close at 10 p.m. today, Gov. Kim Reynolds said as she announced an expansion of her emergency declaration.

"In these uncertain times, we are taking extraordinary measures to preserve our way of life," Reynolds said at her daily afternoon press conference. "Iowa will make a strong comeback."

Reynolds also suspended certain elective medical and dental procedures after 5 p.m. Friday.

Further details of the closures and suspensions are forthcoming.

State health officials reported 34 more confirmed coronavirus cases in the state today, the largest one-day increase.
