Council awards Ten Point street restoration contract

The Carroll City Council Monday night approved a contract with Ten Point Construction of Denison for street restoration work, including full-depth concrete patching, at five locations in Carroll.

Ten Point emerged as the low bidder at $456,593. The other bidder was Caliber Concrete, LLC of Adair at $628,185.

The project was estimated to cost $625,000.

The work will take place this summer and fall construction season at the following locations:

— West Sixth Street from Quint Avenue to U.S. 30

— Quint Avenue from U.S. 30 to 10th Street

— West 20th Street from 21st Street to Calvin Street

— Le Clark Road from Burgess Avenue to U.S. 30

— Radiant Road from Burgess Avenue to U.S. 30

Funding will come through local option sales tax, Road Use Tax and storm water utility funds.

The plan also includes construction of a sidewalk along Timberline Road and Main Street from 111 Timberline Road to 447 S. Main St.
