Three of the four people who were arrested after an overnight shooting at Fairview Village apartments were accused of fighting or attempting to fight, and a woman who was arrested last week for drug and gun possession was found to have more drugs and another loaded weapon in her apartment within reach of her child, who was sleeping during the altercations, according to court records.
The shooting was reported just before midnight on Tuesday, and Cliff Derek Urban, 31, of Hammond, Indiana, was arrested for a federal weapons warrant and is awaiting extradition to his home state. Further criminal charges are pending against him.
Officers who responded to the shooting — the victim of which was shot below the waist and is expected to recover — saw two women fighting and arrested them for assault. They were Triesha Jones, 31, and Glennisha Myers, 27, both of Carroll.
Another woman, Kamille Garnett, 30, of Carroll, is accused of making threatening gestures toward another woman. She was arrested for disorderly conduct. A subsequent search of her apartment found a loaded handgun on a couch, unspecified drugs in the kitchen and bedroom, and Garnett's child asleep. Garnett was also charged with child endangerment.
Garnett and Myers were arrested last week for a morning confrontation in which both brandished handguns, which caused nearby Fairview Elementary to lock all of its students in classrooms for a short period of time. A search of Garnett's apartment then found another loaded handgun and marijuana that was prepped for distribution, court records show.
