A 76-year-old Lanesboro man died today when his car was struck by a pickup truck whose driver didn’t yield at a stop sign north of Lidderdale, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

Kenneth Lee Johnston was driving in an unspecified direction on 130th Street, about two miles north of Lidderdale, when the truck, driven by Jacob Allen Hubbs, 20, of Jefferson, was northbound on Robin Avenue and went past a stop sign about 12:50 p.m. and struck the truck.

Johnston died, and Hubbs, along with a passenger in his truck, was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony Regional Hospital with unspecified injuries.

All wore seatbelts. It's unclear if Hubbs faces any traffic citations or criminal charges.
