EARLY SEASON: The cloudy skies and intermittent showers Wednesday failed to stop Herman Kienast of Manning from trying to catch the bullheads he was after at Swan Lake. The unseasonably warm weather this month has caused the ice to go out of the lake earlier than other years, and has brought fishermen throughout the county to the lake. Kienast has made a special trip Wednesday to the lake, which last spring yielded numerous bullheads and catfish, but said he did not have much luck fishing near the swimming beach.
