HONOR TEACHER: Mrs. Merlyn Miller was guest of honor at a surprise retirement party for her Friday at the Fairview Elementary school. Mrs. Miller has taught elementary school for 24 years, including 18 years as a second grade teacher in Carroll. Her last day of teaching will be Tuesday, May 29. Pupils in her second grade class (above) crowded around as Mrs. Miller opened a gift certificate given by the pupils. Cookies for the party were furnished by mothers of the pupils.
