JEFFERSON: Crews responded this morning to a dust explosion and fire at Landus in Jefferson.

Employees at nearby B&D Mfg. said their building shook, then they saw flames coming from one of the concrete grain silos at Landus.

“There was a dust explosion at the Landus Jefferson location at approximately 8:00 this morning, Friday, May 14, resulting in property damage,” Kerrey Kerr-Enskat, executive vice president of communications and marketing for Landus Cooperative, said this morning. “All employees are accounted for and there were no injuries. Local fire and emergency services are onsite and the situation is contained and under control. An investigation into the cause of the incident will be conducted.”
