Halbur Development Corporation members handed out Mr. Freeze treats and welcomed kids to try out the new JAX Web climbing device as well as the other equipment in the recently renovated playground in the city park when they hosted an open house Thursday evening, June 18.
The Development Corporation spearheaded the renovation, gaining a $10,000 grant from the Carroll Community Foundation. Other support for the project came from the corporation and the City of Halbur.
The project included:
— Installation of softer and safer rubber mulch surface replacing the pea gravel and wood chips.
— Construction of concrete sidewalk to the playground from the parking lot south of the park. In the park, there’s a resting area with two benches.
— Installation of the JAX Web playground feature. The playground also has swings, slides, a merry-go-round, climbing equipment, a sand digger, teeter-totter and more.
The project was done by Danner Landscaping and Rotert Construction.
