Roadtrippin’ event stretches from Jefferson to Denison

  • 0

More than 20 businesses will participate in a large-scale shopping initiative that will invite people to browse and buy at stops along U.S. Highway 30 from Jefferson to Denison.

The “Roadtrippin’ Route 30” event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Friday and Saturday.

Participating stores, located in Jefferson, Carroll, Maple River, Arcadia, Vail and Denison, offer “antique and vintage treasures, handmade and artisan goods, and boutique wares,” according to the event’s Facebook page.

One of the Carroll shops included on the route is Carroll Design and Salvage, which features items from more than 25 vendors.

“There are a lot of fun finds in our store you wouldn’t find in other places,” new owner Ashley Hagen said. “We go from created to repurposed to found — lots of treasures. Of all the years we’ve been a part of it, it’s been a really great day, a great event with lots of fun people coming in and seeing new things.”

Some stores will offer special deals during the event.

“I think there’s something really special about shopping locally and being a part of that with so many different people,” Hagen said. “It brings about a sense of community, a sense of providing things that are not just fun to find but also locally found. It brings the community together, from Jefferson all the way to Denison.”
