BURGLARS LEAVE LOOT: The burglars didn't get very far early Tuesday. Sheriff John G. Longnecker's office got a call that a truck had been stolen from the Victor Wendl farm on Route 1. A little later, a call came in from the Carroll Country Club that a break-in had occurred there. When officers arrived at the Country Club, the truck reported stolen was parked near the pool. Aboard were about 31 6-packs of beer, 10 fifths of whiskey, three partial fifths, and some new and used golf balls. The burglars, who broke a window to get into the club, apparently were frightened by something and fled, leaving the truck and loot behind. Here, the sheriff examines the loot.
