BUILDING IS PROTECTED BY BALES OF HAY: No, they weren't putting up hay in the business district here Friday. The bales going up in this picture were placed on the roof of the Kelley Shore Store's temporary location to protect it from falling debris as the building next door east was demolished. After knocking down all the old structures on the north side of Fifth Street from Adams east to the alley, the urban renewal wrecking crew turned back to operations on the south side. By the first of June, all the buildings on Fifth Street between Adams and Main will have been demolished to make way for new structures in the urban renewal program.
