$1,100 FOR TREES: Mike Halbur and Janet Grundmeier presented a check for more than $1,100 to Russell White, Swan Lake custodian. The money collected by members of the 4-H Mod Squad in their "Dollars for Trees" drive will go into the conservation fund to replace Swan Lake trees destroyed by vandals. White, on behalf of the Carroll County Conservation Board, thanked the 4-H members for their hard work, and the residents of the county for their fine response. Some trees will be purchased and planted this fall, but the majority of trees will be replaced next spring. Anyone still wishing to contribute to the fund may send their donations to the Extension Office in Carroll.
