MANAGING 'THE INN' IS A BIG JOB: From an ordinary one-family kitchen in her Des Moines home, Mrs. Ralph Mead became 'cook' for a hotel dining room, when she and her husband purchased The Inn at Carroll June 1. At first she had to manage and cook, planning menus, ordering and purchasing food, as well as cooking and baking throughout the day. But, with the return of a former cook to The Inn, Mrs. Mead now works only a little in the kitchen, mostly doing the morning baking. This, too, the cook is learning, and he soon will be doing the baking also.
