MOBILE UNIT: The Iowa Highway Patrol's mobile command and communications unit was on display here this week. Shown from left at side of huge semi-trailer are Maj. John Mahnke, Cpt. Dean Lewis and Lt. Robert Janett, members of the Highway Patrol, and Carroll County Deputies John Hays and Roger O'Tool. The trailer contains 25 radio transmitters that can communicate with every law enforcement agency in the state and with the National Guard. A self-contained generator enables the unit to operate independently of outside electrical power.
