THOMPSON FUND CHECK: Jack Stangl, right, co-chairman of the Purple Ball, presents a check to Dr. Robert Langenfeld, exalted ruler, for the Gayle Thompson Memorial Fund being conducted by Carroll Elk's Lodge 1637. A total of $428.75 has been collected for the fund through individual donations and part of the proceeds of the Purple Ball. Mr. Thompson, a former instructor at Kuemper High School, was killed recently in an automobile accident in Minnesota. Anyone wishing to donate to the fund to help his family may mail their contributions to the Elk's Lodge or leave them there personally.
