County leaders appointed Lisa Wagner this morning to replace Treasurer Jean Seidl, who resigned effective today to tend to unspecified personal matters.
Wagner was sworn into the new job at the county supervisors meeting this morning.
Wagner, 51, of Carroll, has held several different positions in the office for the past 27 years and most recently was the tax and financials deputy and administrative assistant.
Seidl told the supervisors in January that she would resign because personal matters would require her to be absent extensively from the office and recommended that Wagner succeed her.
“I had every intention of completing this term and retiring at age 65, but because I didn’t know what the future would hold, I am going to be forced out of the office quite frequently over a period of time, so it’s in the best interest of my staff, my office and the county that I tender my resignation today," Seidl said at the time.
Wagner has said she intends to seek election in November to remain treasurer.
