A 20-year-old Des Moines woman had marijuana, an electronic scale and a pipe to smoke the drug hidden in her bra when a deputy sheriff stopped her for a traffic violation in Glidden last week.
Charity Faith Cameron initially lied about her identity in the 11:15 p.m. traffic stop on Dec. 4, according to court records. She was arrested for providing false information and driving with a suspended license and cited for speeding and no insurance.
Cameron had been driving her 2009 Mercedes-Benz C300 at least 20 mph more than the speed limit on U.S. Highway 30, according to the speeding citation.
As she was being booked into the Carroll County jail and changing into inmate garb, Cameron revealed what she had in her bra.
“Cameron had concealed a bag containing a green plant-like material in her bra,” according to a criminal complaint. “An electronic scale, a smoking device, and several empty plastic bags were also found in the same area.”
Because she didn’t reveal the items before she arrived at jail, she is charged with a felony for possession of contraband in correctional institution. It is punishable by up to five years in prison if she is convicted.
Cameron was released from jail the next day.
