A 29-year-old Storm Lake man accused of dozens of burglaries in three states is finally set to face his felony charges in Carroll County for four break-ins in 2015 in Dedham and Templeton, according to court records.
Shawn Edward Boger is set to defend himself against four burglary charges, three of which have an enhancement for being a habitual offender and command a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
Boger has a voluminous rap sheet and was a convicted felon in adult district court before he was 18 for first-degree theft, court records show. The details of that crime were not immediately available.
In August 2015 he allegedly broke into Donna’s Cafe and Southside Lounge in Dedham and The Still and Irlmeier Paint in Templeton and stole cash and other items.
Less than two months later he was arrested in Colorado with his brother for a string of burglaries there, and the two were later linked to scores of break-ins across the three states.
In 2016 he was convicted in Colorado of assault on a guard while in custody and burglary and sentenced to years in prison. He was paroled and was booked into the Carroll County jail in August.
His Carroll County trial is set for Feb. 18.
