Charles Turner, 62, of Carroll, passed away on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
A celebration of Charlie’s Life was held Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the activities building at New Hope Village. Arrangements were entrusted to Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home of Carroll.
Born on Jan. 20, 1957, in Butler County, Iowa, he was a son of Mary Margaret Turner. Charlie, as he was known to most, lived at Woodward State Hospital School until he was 31 years old when he moved to Oakridge Cottage at New Hope Village in Carroll. Charlie had a charismatic and loving personality. He was very actively engaged in all that New Hope had to offer. Charlie enjoyed working in the shop, ceramics, vocational education, and spending time with his friends and New Hope family.
He is survived by his friends and family at New Hope Village and his guardian Sam Smith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Margaret Turner Fetters, in 1985; and a half brother, who was killed in the Korean War.
