Douglas Wayne Anderson, 68, of Glenwood, Iowa, and formerly of Arcadia, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at Glen Haven in Glenwood, Iowa.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll, Iowa, with Pastor Ben Dose of Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia officiating. Casket bearers will be Doug’s family members. Burial will be at the Arcadia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll, and online condolences may be left for Doug’s family at

Doug was born on Oct. 8, 1952, in Carroll and was a son of Elvin and Zelda (Lussman) Anderson. He was the middle son of three boys. Doug was a resident of Glenwood State Hospital School for the past 63 years.

Doug is survived by a brother: Terry Anderson (Vicki) of Red Oak, Iowa; a sister-in-law: Diane Anderson of Pleasant Dale, Nebraska; six nieces and nephews: Jill Trease (Barry) of Pleasant Dale; Michael Anderson (Brandy) of Vail, Iowa; Jim Anderson of Pleasant Dale; Nic Anderson (Molly) of Malvern, Iowa; Lindsay Taylor (Jason) of Overland Park, Kansas; and Jason Sickels (Katie) of Red Oak.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Elvin in 1999 and Zelda in 2019; brother Allen Anderson in 2002; and niece Lisa Anderson in 1976.
