Funeral services for Imogene “Jean”Trimble will be at 4 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the American Legion Community Building, Coon Rapids, Iowa, with the Rev. Ray Higgins officiating.

Honorary casket bearer will be Blake Stoppel. Casket bearers will be Shane Spaulding, Dustin Huffman, Logan Young, Andy Lundy, Beau Huffman and Cody Huffman. Burial will be at Union Township Cemetery, Coon Rapids.

Imogene Clara Trimble, daughter of John W. and Philomena (Balk) Hofbauer, was born Oct. 4, 1936, at her home in Willey, Carroll County, Iowa. She grew up in rural Viola Township and attended school in Gray, Iowa.

Jean married Virgil Huffman in Audubon on May 22, 1954. They moved to Minnesota, and Jean worked for Family Consultation Center in Rochester, Minnesota. They were blessed with five children: Cynthia, Dwight, Jacqueline, Mark and Stacey. They made their home in Coon Rapids, Iowa, Rochester, Minnesota, and then they made their way back home to Coon Rapids.

Later, she was married to Keith Farnham in New Hampton, Iowa, on Dec. 7, 1970. He passed away in 1974. She worked as a nurses’ aide and home health aide with a Carroll County agency. On Aug. 12, 1978, Jean was blessed with a third marriage with Kenyon Trimble in Nashua, Iowa.

In her earlier days, she was a backup singer for Sonny James. Jean enjoyed gardening, tending to flowers, going to the casino, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bayard and was a part of the Altar Guild for many years.

Jean passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. She was 86.

Jean is survived by her children: Cynthia Bauer Besaw of Bayard, Dwight Huffman and his wife Nancy of Carroll, Jacqueline Huffman and her significant other Russ of Rochester, Minnesota, Mark Huffman of Coon Rapids, and Stacey and her husband Rick Lundy of Glidden; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings Stanley Hofbauer of Coon Rapids, Dale Hofbauer and his wife Darlene of Rochester, Minnesota, Roy Hofbauer of Washougl, Washington, Stephen Hofbauer and his wife Laura of Hermanson, Oregon, Ruth Cook of Coon Rapids, Sharon Hofbauer of Coon Rapids, and Connie Johnson of Plainview, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Verniel Siercks, Verla Becker, Shirley Hofbauer, Marjorie Gunderson, and Donald Hofbauer.
