Lee Nepple, 81, of Clive, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from pancreatic cancer. He was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Templeton, Iowa, son of Ed and Sophia Sturm Nepple. He married Judy Wagner on Nov. 28, 1964, in St. Joseph, Iowa.

In 1957, Lee graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Templeton with distinction: his entire class graduated in the top 10 of the class. He attended the University of Iowa and graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Lee was an amateur woodworker and proud of his production of smoke and some of the finest exotic wood sawdust.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; son, Mike Nepple of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter, Michelle Boris, son-in-law, Nick Boris; favorite granddaughter, Sarah Katherine Lee Boris, all of Georgetown, Texas; siblings, Mary Jane Boes of Elgin, Nebraska, Vern (Roe) Nepple of The Villages, Florida, Larry (Cindy) Nepple of The Villages, Florida, Ray (Marlene) Nepple of Iowa City, Iowa, Ron (Kathy) Nepple of Clinton, Missouri, Jerome (Diane) Nepple of Carroll, Iowa, and Elaine (Leroy) Irlbeck of Manning, Iowa. 

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Gene Boes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska (in care of his nephew Father Steve Boes, president) or EveryStep Hospice, temporarily located at 3000 Easton Blvd., Des Moines, IA.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Biaggi’s Restaurant, 5990 University Ave., West Des Moines, Iowa.
