LuEtta was born on Jan. 24, 1931, to Elmer Christian and Esther Pearl (Clayton) Eberle in Salix, Iowa. She moved with her family in 1934 to Scranton, Iowa, where she spent most of her life.

Following her graduation in 1948 from Scranton Consolidated School, she worked several years for the Scranton Journal and later for Security Savings Bank where she made lifelong friends.

On July 9, 1950, LuEtta married James S. Craigmile in Scranton. They made their home and raised their children, Barbara and Jami, in Scranton and the surrounding area for 27 years. After Jim’s passing, LuEtta married Harry A. Pleshek on May 9, 1981. She often remarked about how lucky she was to have found two good husbands. After four years living in Jefferson, Lu and Harry moved to Mims, Florida. They had many good years in the sun playing Mexican Train, going to the flea market, and socializing with family and friends.

Lu lived the last three years of her life at Benton House Assisted Living in Port Orange, Florida, making new friends and earning the nickname Lucky Lu for her tendency to win at the poker table.

LuEtta is survived by her daughters: Barbara (Vince) Elser of Lake Park and Jami (James) Leiting of Burlington; stepchildren: Brent (Tina) Pleshek of Melbourne, Florida, and Lisa (Dwayne) McClintock of Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren Nick (Arin) Elser, Jacque Elser, Joshua (Carol) Leiting, Jacob Leiting, Nichole (Steven) Canty, Monica Pleshek, Roark Hart and Chelsea Warren; great-grandchildren: Grace and Gavin Elser, Sydney, Elizabeth and Chloe Leiting, and Keira Warren; brother Ronald (Madge) Eberle; sisters Phyllis Vollstedt and Gwen (Fred/Cash) Register; in-laws Judy Craigmile, Gail Craigmile, Richard, Irene and Phillip Pleshek; and many nieces and nephews.
