Michele was born on July 22, 1956, at St Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa, a daughter of Arnold and Cedella (Stangl) Danzer. She graduated from Kuemper High School in Carroll. After graduation she worked at the Daily Times Herald for a short time. In 1978, she started her long career at Templeton Savings Bank that continued for the next 42 years. She enjoyed assisting her customers with their day-to-day banking as well as long-term financial planning needs. She retired in March 2020.

On Sept. 18, 1976, Michele married Keith Sporrer at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. They have been farming near Templeton since 1979. Michele was active in the business, keeping the books and keeping Keith organized.

Michele dedicated her life to being a loving mother, wife and friend. She was immensely proud of her kids and grandkids and was a huge fan of any sport or activity in which they were participants. From dance recitals to cold soccer games, she was there to cheer on her family. She often hosted large family gatherings, and her kitchen island became a regular place for a simple cup of coffee or festive holiday get-togethers.

When she wasn’t with the family you could find her in her garden or greenhouse making something grow. She loved plants and trying to grow new ones, as well as sharing her bulbs and seeds. Last year she started a fun pumpkin patch where kids could pick real pumpkins and enjoy fall crafts and games.

She also really enjoyed traveling and managed to get in several adventurous trips including Alaskan and Hawaian cruises, trips to Europe, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

Every chance she had, she went on short trips to spend time with her family. Michele made the most of life, packed a lot into every day and rarely sat down to rest.

Michele is survived by her husband, Keith, and their daughters, Andrea (Brian) Haselhoff and their children, Clare, Ella, Will and Jake of Bondurant, Iowa; Danielle (Ryan) Weide and their children, Carter, Brayden and Madison of Hudson, Iowa, and Nicole Sporrer of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Sharon (Clay) Brinker of West Des Moines, Iowa, Lisa Danzer (Hank Schlapkohl) of Dallas, Texas; her brothers, Gary (Karen) Danzer of St. Charles, Illinoia, Lynn Danzer of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Marty (Lisa) Danzer of Carroll, Iowa, and Jeff (Kim Morrison) Danzer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Cedella Danzer; and her parents-in-law, Elaine and Clarence “Doc” Sporrer.
