On Sunday, March 28, 2021, Robert Lee Wolterman, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at age 87.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona. Services in Iowa are pending.

Robert was born Sept. 7, 1933, in Breda, Iowa, to Vincent and Frances Wolterman. On Sept. 11, 1954, he married Shirley Mae Schroeder. They raised two sons and four daughters on their family farm near Arcadia, Iowa. Bob and Shirley retired to Carroll, Iowa, after devoting over 45 years to farming. They lived in Carroll for 10 years before escaping the cold to Mesa, Arizona.

Bob, as known by his friends, was an Army veteran and active with the Arcadia American Legion. His passion for woodworking showed in the craftsmanship of his work, designing everything from toys to furniture. He enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball, bowling, card club and golfing. His love for his family, travel, and past experiences were shared in every story he told. One of his favorites was telling the stories of how he shot three hole-in-ones during his golfing days.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley; his five children, Peggy (Dan) Steinfadt, Russ (Sheri) Wolterman, Susan (Rod) Hunter, Nancy (Dave) Stevens and Scott (Carolan) Wolterman; 14 grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Travis, Danielle, Andrew, Sarah, Jeremy, Stewart, Jonathan, Alexander, Tayler, Hope, Noelle and Abby; 19 great-grandchildren, Jason, Aubrey, Brynlee, Asher, Zachary, Caleb, Anna, William, Owen, Alivia, Nina, Aston, Nova, Braelyn, Jameson, Evelyn, Jaclyn, Genevieve and Ellis; three brothers, Arden (Betty), Milo (Mary) and Larry (Deanne); and two sisters, Norma Jean Vonnahme and Betty Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Barbara.
