To the Editor:

U.S. Kamala Harris, in the epilogue of her recent TV ad, states: “You’ve waited long enough to get a good night’s sleep.”

Harris has moved into the upper echelon of the crowded Democratic presidential candidate slate. Her proposals pretty well emulate what the core Democratic mission consists of this election cycle.

Harris, et al., are promoting furthering the trap of entitlement and relapsing into restrictive socialist destitution: the misguided idea of a socialist utopia. Or do we continue the road forward with the gifts capitalism and democracy have given us? Destroying the free market is unconscionable. I can’t imagine any of Harris’s stuff enabling a better night’s sleep for me.

“The function of socialism is to raise suffering to a higher level.” — Norman Mailer, American author (1923-2007).
