The first item addressed at the Carroll County Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday, Sept. 23, was approval of payables or claims. County Engineer Dave Paulson then presented utility permits for Section 5 of Pleasant Valley Township and Section 23 of Eden Township. Both applications were approved.
The supervisors also passed a resolution approving preliminary official statement for general obligation jail and sheriff’s office bonds. This is for the voter-approved bond for the jail.
The supervisors spent considerable time discussing the ISICS (Iowa State Interoperable Communication System) radio system. The supervisors decided to hold a public hearing on Sept. 30 regarding the system and expenditure of funds for the radio system.
In other business, the county reviewed proposals for county-audit providers and voted to hire Gronewold, Bell, Kyhnn & Co. P.C. to do the next audit.
The board also discussed suggestions made for the Carroll County employee handbook, rent of the County Farm and compensation for performing work for the Planning and Zoning Commission and GIS programs. Decisions on those items is planned for the Sept. 30 meeting,
