In Monday’s Carroll County Board of Supervisors meeting, a quarterly report was received from the GIS (Geographical Information System) department. The big item was the change to Geo Communication software. This is an upgrade to make information more exclusive to Carroll County.
Next was discussion on a proposal for a funding request to participate with the City of Carroll and private donors to apply for an upcoming grant through governmental funds to fix trails. This request is for $100,000 expected to be provided in the 2022-23 budgets. This money is expected to come from local option sales tax dollars that are in reserve at this time. The resolution for this will be in upcoming meetings. (Under the COVID-19 Relief Recreational Trails Program, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a one-time, $5 million allocation of funding to partially offset COVID-19 related reductions in the SRT program. The activities eligible for funding under this program can go towards acquisition, construction of new trails, maintenance, resurfacing and restoration of existing recreational trails; and development and rehabilitation of trailside and trailhead facilities and trail linkages. Carroll County Conservation hopes to replace asphalt trail between Swan Lake State Park and Maple River over the years as funding allows. Matching funds boost application scoring.)
Payables and plats were approved.
A class C liquor license for 4R’s Tavern in Roselle was approved.
Discussion on a quote for roof repair on the Fricke Annex Building was held, and the work given to Elevate Roofing from Denison in the amount of $34,773.
