The 10-0 victory over Glidden-Ralston wasn’t the only to celebrate Wednesday night.

Not only were the Coon Rapids-Bayard baseball team able to start their season with a second-straight win, but their coach reached a milestone not a lot of other coaches have reached in their careers.

Head coach John Waddle was able to gain his 800th career win.

The milestone win came in shortened game against Glidden-Ralston as the Crusaders were able to best the Wildcats 10-0 in a five inning game.

Waddle is in his 40th year of coaching, all at CR-B. His career record is 800-359-1

Winning pitcher Kolby Culbertson was able to throw four innings. He didn’t allow a hit and struck out eight batters with three walks allowed.

Culbertson also had a single and a triple in the game.

Jacob Estrada had a 2-run single. Lance Clayburg finished with a solo home run. Mason Culbertson and Wyatt Oswald both recorded RBI singles.

Tuesday night the Crusaders were able to defeat IKM-Manning 6-2.

In that victory, the 799th of Waddle’s career, the Crusaders used three pitchers, Cal Heydon, Lance Clayburg and Cade Behrens. They allowed just one hit and combined to strike out 13.

Clayburg hit a home run in the first inning.
