Friday night proved to be a good night to run for the Kuemper Catholic boys team.
They were able to win the Ross Samuelson meet held at Lake City on Friday night with 123 total points.
On the girls side of the meet, the Knights finished fourth with 59 total points. Sioux Central won the meet with 118 points.
Michael Pottebaum was one of the first winners of the meet, with a win in the 800 meters with a time of 2:05.7.
Pottebaum also won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:58.03. In second in the same race was Jacob Greving with a time of 5:01.75.
Kuemper’s boys sprint medley team of Sibenaller, Tanner Higby, Max Meyers and Pottebaum won with a time of 1:38.57.
The Knight boys also won the distance medley event as Meyers, Higby, Christensen and Pottebaum posting a time of 3:47.6.
Kuemper’s 4x100 team of Logan Sibenaller, Ben Gerken, Garrett Christensen and Tanner Higby finished second with a time of 47.96.
The 4x400 team of Kyle Sundrup, Grant Nielsen, Patrick Hensel and Trevor Rial finished second with a time of 3:52.51.
Also taking second was the 4x800 team of Lampman, Nielsen, Patrick Hensel and Rial. They had a time of 9:16.17.
Logan Sibenaller had a strong night in the sprints. He finished third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.35. He was also third in the 200 meters with a time of 23.9. Teammate Garrett Christensen was fourth with a time of 24.07.
Evan Adams was third in the shot put with a throw of 39-feet-11.5-inches.
In third, the Knights 4x200 team of Evan Adams, Ben Gerken, Kyle Sundrup and Trevor Rial turned in a time of 1:42.33.
In the 400-meter race, Kody Lampman was fourth with a time of 56.53.
Max Meyers was fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.16.
Chris Mohr was fifth in the discus with a throw of 111-feet-3-inches.
Mason Rohe was sixth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:13.4.
Ben Gerken finished sixth in the long jump event with a leap of 19 feet.
In the girls meet, the Knights featured the following point place winners:
Grace Hoffman won the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:11.99.
The Kuemper 4x200 relay team of Megan Scott, Kerrigan Irlbeck, Grace Hoffman and Macy Blum were second with a time of 1:53.25.
Also placing second was the Kuemper sprint medley team of Blum, Irlbeck, Megan Scott and Grace Hoffman finished with a time of 2:00.21.
In third was Kenzie Schon in the discus event with a best throw of 102 feet. Schon was third in the shot put with a throw of 36-feet-6.5-inches.
Macy Blum was third in the long jump with a best leap of 15-feet-1-inch.
Kerrigan Irlbeck was fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 13.42.
Brooklyn Gifford was fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:48.33.
In the 4x100 relay, Kuemper’s team of Megan Scott, Kerrigan Irlmeier, Grace Hoffman and Blum had a fourth-place time of 53.82.
The distance medley relay team of Tori Ellis, Ellie Sibbel, Aubrey Heuton and Gifford finished fifth with a time of 5:07.06.
In the 4x400 relay, the Kuemper team of Ellie Sibbel, Hoffman, Aubrey Heuton and Gifford was sixth with a time of 4:49.8.
