Thursday night the Kuemper Catholic volleyball team stayed unbeaten in the Hawkeye 10 conference with a 3-0 victory over Atlantic.
The Knights didn’t let the Trojans score more than 20 points in a single set as they worked their way to their ninth-straight Hawkeye 10 conference victory.
After taking care of the Trojans 25-17 in the first set the Knights seemed to play even better in the second.
Throughout the second set Atlantic only scored 15 points as the Knights won 25-15 to move up 2-0 on the match. They capped off the win with a 25-17 win in the final set.
Kara Peter led the Knights with 19 kills. Anna Niehaus added 10 more kills. Madison Leonard finished with seven kills and Bethany Schleisman added five.
Mariah Naberhaus had 18 assists. Ashlyn Badding finished the match with one more assist, at 19.
Mallory Badding had 19 digs in the match. Kenya Prescott and Kenzie Schon both added eight digs each.
Peter, Schon and Mallory Badding all finished Thursday’s match with three aces each.
The Knights have two Hawkeye 10 matches remaining: a match tonight against Lewis Central who lost to Red Oak earlier this season, and an Oct. 21 match against Glenwood.
