Rockets go 1-2 at CAM tournament

On Saturday the Rockets were able to get their last tune-up before they head into the Rolling Valley Conference and class 1A tournaments.

Ar-We-Va played at the CAM tournament on Saturday finishing with a 1-2 record.

Their lone Saturday win came against Paton-Churdan in a 2-1 match.

The Rockets fell in the first set 15-21 to the similarly named Paton-Churdan Rockets. However, they would recover with a win in the second set 21-16.

Momentum swung widely on both sides of the net for the third set, but ultimately it was Ar-We-Va who walked away with a narrow 15-13 victory.

Other results from the tournament had Ar-We-Va falling to Underwood 0-2. Underwood won the first set 21-8, and then took the second, 21-16.

Against AC-GC the Rockets would fall 0-2. The Chargers were able to win the fist set 21-10. Ar-We-Va scored 14 points in the second set, but it was AC-GC who had the 21-14 win.

Jadeyn Smith had 14 kills on the afternoon to lead her team. Hannah Kraus added four kills. Kora Obrecht had five kills. Bridget Cameron added three kills.

Both Maggie Ragaller and Sara Schurke both finished with two kills each.

Leslie Luft had 30 total digs.

Kraus was second on her team with 16 digs. Schurke had 13 digs in the tournament. Smith added 10 digs with Jamie Hausman finishing with six. Cameron had one dig.

Schurke led the way with 20 assists. Maggie Ragaller had three.

Smith finished with three aces. Kraus had two aces. Schurke and Ragaller both had one ace each.
