It has been a busy few days for the Carroll swim team.
Tuesday night the Tigers were in action against the team from Sioux City. In that meet the Tigers were led by Emma Myers who won two events.
That wasn’t quite enough as Sioux City won the meet 73-21.
Myers was able to pick up a win in the 50-yard freestyle race with a winning time of 25.56. Teammate Keziah Janssen was fifth in the same race with a time of 31.93.
Myers also won the 100-yard breaststroke event with a time of 1:09.58. Claudia Gidoncha finished fourth with a time of 1:24.53.
The Carroll 200 medley relay team of Hailey Burns, Myers, Natalie Kent and Amelia Holt finished second with a time of 2:02.71. In fourth was the team of Lydia Dose, Leah Nystrom, Gidoncha and Samantha Potts who had a time of 2:29.52.
Hailey Burns finished second in the individual medley race with a time of 2:37.08. Kent placed fourth with a time of 2:43.27.
In the 200 yard freestyle relay race the Tiger team of Myers, DeMoss, Burns and Holt finished with a time of 1:49.32. In the same race the Carroll team of Perry, Dose, Janssen and Potts finished fourth with a time of 2:10.08.
Amelia Holt led the Tigers in the 100-yard butterfly event with a third place time fo 1:12.19. Gidoncha was fifth with a time of 1:23.18.
Holt also finished third in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 1:12.36. Dose was fourth with a time of 1:30.8. Nystrom finished fifth with a time of 1:37.92.
Burns also finished third in the 100-yard freestyle race with a time of 1:00.78. DeMoss was fourth with a time fo 1:03.96. Nystrom finished sixth with a time of 1:14.31.
The Carroll 400 yard freestyle relay team of Perry, Nystrom, Kent and DeMoss finished third with a time of 4:39.73. In fourth in the same event was the Carroll team of Janssen, Potts, Dose and Gidoncha who turned in a time of 5:01.83.
Zelda DeMoss led Carroll in the 200-yard freestyle with a fourth place time of 2:23.57. Ella Perry was fifth with a time of 2:37.92.
Kent led the way for the Tigers in the 500-yard freestyle race with a fourth place time of 6:28.16. Janssen was fifth with a time of 6:55.4. Potts placed sixth with a time of 7:28.02.
Carroll finishes sixth at Johnston Invite
Over the weekend the Carroll swim team finished sixth at the Johnston Invite. They scored 66 points. Waukee won the meet with 394 points.
In the 200 yard medley relay event the Carroll team of DeMoss, Gindocha, Kent and Perry finished ninth with a time of 2:14.46.
DeMoss finished 17th in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:26.94. Janssen finished 20th with a time of 2:33.5.
Myers finished seventh in the individual medley event with a time of 2:19.52. Gindoncha finished 18th with a time of 2:47.69.
Holt was 13th in the 50 free with a time of 27.03. Kent was 20th with a time of 28.7 and Dose was 27th with a time of 32.43.
In the 100 fly Burns finished 14th with a time of 1:12.71. Kent was 18th with a time of 1:18.72.
Holt led the 100 free event for the Tigers with a 16th place time of 1:01.63. Perry was 24th with a time of 1:11.12. Nystrom was 25th with a time of 1:14.8.
In the 500 free DeMoss was 15th with a time of 6:32.77. Janssen finished 18th with a time of 6:46.3.
In the 200 yard freestyle the Carroll team of Myers, Kent, Burns and Holt finished fourth with a time of 1:47.14.
Burns led the way in the 100 back with a 13th place finish of 1:13.21. Perry was 17th with a time of 1:21.52 and Potts placed 23rd with a time of 1:30.69.
Myers was fourth in the 100 breaststroke event with a time of 1:09.79. Gindocha was 20th with a time fo 1:24.07 and Nystrom was 22nd with a time of 1:32.
Carroll’s 400 yard freestyle relay team of Holt, DeMoss, Burns and Myers finished sixth with a time of 4:07.71.
