Tigers end regular season with win

Carroll high swimmer Kelsey Gray takes a breath during the individual medley race in Monday’s meet held at the Carroll Recreation center. In the meet between Perry and Algona, Carroll won nine events. Gray won this race with a time of 2:28.9.

Monday night the Carroll High swim team took down both Perry and Algona.

Against Perry, Carroll won 69-25. They defeated Algona 79-15.

From the beginning of the meet the Tigers were quick in the pool. The first event, the 200-yard medley relay ended with the Carroll team of Haley Lux, Madison Mohr, Emily Hansen and Ashley Beagle winning with a time of 2:10.92.

The Carroll team of Kennadie Machovec, Maddi McLaughlin, Sophia Polking and Emily Ludwig finished fourth.

Gray would later win the 200-yard individual medley event with a time of 2:28.9. Polking finished third.

In the 50-yard freestyle event Mackenzie Campbell won with a time of 27.66. Emily Hansen finished second with a time of 28.53.

In the 100-yard freestyle event Campbell won with a time of 1:00.29. Gray finished second with a time of 1:01.09.

Melea Axman won the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 5:45.51. Olivia Boes finished third.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ashley Beagle, Campbell, Gray and Axman won with a time of 1:49.25. The Carroll team of McLaughlin, Hansen, Ludwig and Mohr finished second.

The 100-yard backstroke event featured Haley Lux winning with a time of 1:11.7. Mohr finished second with a time of 1:15.39.

Axman won the breaststroke event with a time of 1:16.97. Beagle finished second with a time of 1:23.31.

Carroll capped off their wins with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay. There, the team of Gray, Campbell, Polking and Axman had the fastest time of 4:07.24.

In fourth was the team of Boes, Machovec, Kathrine Folsom and Madelyn Ehler.

McLaughlin finished second in the 200-yard freestle race. Mohr was second in the 100-yard butterfly event.
